Ramblings of an Englishman

Sometimes, it is really hard playing Pokémon games the way I do. I like to build my team right away before I have the game, what I normally do is have around 8-10 (including starter) new Pokémon for this generation which I like the design of to then use, I'll have a preferred 6 but have back ups in case of any version exclusives which have no been announced which may change my team. However, for Sword & Shield onwards I really do feel like this has become a harder process, I spoke recently on the rise of leaks when it comes to video games and I feel that this can have an effect on people's hype but I wanted to break down in a bit further detail the other side of the coin with a lack of information.  Let's break down what we have for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet confirmed as of 24th July 2022, we have the 3 starters, the 2 box art legendaries and three other new Pokémon and that's it. Ring of Honor returns to PPV this time really under the leadership of Tony Khan. If anything this was more of an interesting look into the future of ROH than Superxard of Honor was earlier in the year, here we can see where Tony Khan and those who are in charge of ROH now with a new logo and set up we are truly in a new era here.  Starting off with the new ROH World Champions. The 100% correct decision, with ROH looking to build as a brand, Gresham might be one of the blandest wrestlers on the planet, nothing he does excites me and he also isn't a good promo, not the type of person to build a brand around, while Claudio is no Eddie Kingston on the mic he's such an upgrade. It also is now a time where all ROH champions are those decided by Tony Khan (I still say his hands were tied with Gresham vs. Bandido and if it wasn't already booked it wouldn't have been the main event) so we get a clear idea of who TK wants to place as his pillars of the company going forward. I remember growing up the only breaking speculation you'd get new information was from new trailers I remember how shocked I was when a new Super Smash Bros character trailer would just come out randomly or at least in my eyes they did. I had the same with Pokémon which is where the main topic of this comes from.  Over the more recent generations of games we've seen a large gathering of 'leak information' while started as false posts by people claiming their dads best friend works in marketing for Game Freak and would post any random rubbish it has changed to sources that leak information that is 100% genuine. The way they get this information unkown the main thing it is correct, people flock to hear all about anything they say this person holds power in the comminuty of the game in question but I wanted to put my thoughts down on leaks when it comes to video games and if it is a negative to fans. In an event three years in the making All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) combine for a mega event under a phrase Hiroshi Tanahashi once coined in 'Forbidden Door' which referred to previous frosty relations between the two companies due to The Elite leaving NJPW in order to begin AEW and the animosity caused by others following suit. They say time heals all wounds and we seems to have made it to the event many fans hoped we would get and with 15,000+ in attendance this was set up to be not only a huge event but that of a historical event. Over the past while I've been able to play some games which I have never had a chance to as well as a few new releases. Those in question are Tokyo Mirage Sessions & the recent release of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes and both got me thinking on the way they use their main characters. With Tokyo Mirage Sessions made by Atlus I drew comparisons with Persona 5 and with Three Hopes being another entry for Fire Emblem Three Houses I began comparing protagonists and it made me realise something. I have a serious issue with silent protagonists. First a breakdown on silent protagonists. Between Joker, Byleth and other examples like Link are the player controlled character which does not have a voice, while they may communicate through grunts and dialogue choices. Hearing a protagonist actually talk and emote has been a welcome change when it comes to these style of games for me. Four years ago All Elite Wrestling started and changed the wrestling landscape. I feel like I say that every review I do but it's true. Now back in the place it all started in Las Vegas it was a show which celebrate the legacy of Owen Hart as well as CM Punk's first chance to be a world champion since his return. The Buy In Hookhausen (Hook & Danhausen) vs. Tony Nese & 'Smart' Mark Sterling  One of my favourite acts has been Hookhausen a duo to polar opposites which have a unique chemistry which feels very much like The Rock & Sock Connection, I don't care put the tag titles on them. This match was mainly for me to see how Danhausen was as I had never seen a match of his and I was impressed for the people that hate him he is a pretty good wrestler.
