ROH: Death Before Dishonor: A Vision Begins to Take Place

Ring of Honor returns to PPV this time really under the leadership of Tony Khan. If anything this was more of an interesting look into the future of ROH than Superxard of Honor was earlier in the year, here we can see where Tony Khan and those who are in charge of ROH now with a new logo and set up we are truly in a new era here.

Starting off with the new ROH World Champions. The 100% correct decision, with ROH looking to build as a brand, Gresham might be one of the blandest wrestlers on the planet, nothing he does excites me and he also isn't a good promo, not the type of person to build a brand around, while Claudio is no Eddie Kingston on the mic he's such an upgrade. It also is now a time where all ROH champions are those decided by Tony Khan (I still say his hands were tied with Gresham vs. Bandido and if it wasn't already booked it wouldn't have been the main event) so we get a clear idea of who TK wants to place as his pillars of the company going forward.

I like the set up, the whole production now compared to the Sinclair ROH feels like an upgrade it does seem like the same equipment filming AEW is being used here which would make sense, but the better the show looks is always a positive.

When it comes to match quality it is largely what you expect from the top of the card I do wonder what the full ROH roster will look like. I think a lot of the card will be populated by undercard younger AEW wrestlers that you see on Dark mainly like Lee Johnson, Brock Anderson, Griff Garrison & Kip Sabian (if he ever returns) those who aren't in stories or have a place on the main AEW card, ROH should be used in combination with AEW in my eyes as it will help both shows in the long run.

We will see on ROH and the future of the show. With PPV buys estimated at a minimum of 25,000 and a large amount of tickets sold I think the future is bright and with positive figures some form of TV deal will be reached. Most likely a show done in block tapings I cannot see ROH having a live show each week. For now I guess we wait and see while I think Final Battle in December is a lock I do think we will get a least one more PPV for ROH before that maybe October time but for now it's a case of waiting and seeing what happens but I do think this current form of ROH gives a lot of reasons to be optimistic.
