Game Idea: Pokémon in need of Rivals

In terms of building a region new Pokémon are always one of the more interesting introductions. When it comes to generation eight one of the Pokémon I was most looking forward to was Sirfetch'd not just for finally giving Farfetch'd an evolution but helped my interest and like in Escavalier as it was explained how they were seen as rival Pokémon and how they were seen in the Galar region. I really liked this as it helped flesh out the species of two Pokémon and why they are seen as rivals and what that adds. I find this a good concept and one we should see more, we have a lot of examples such as Zangoose & Seviper, Heatmor & Durant, Reshiram & Zekrom and even more recently in Toxapex and Corsola (and how that evolves to include Cursola) and I think more Pokémon could do with rivals, here are some of the Pokémon I think could benefit from having a rival Pokémon. Where applicable I'll cover the typings and anything design related.  Cinderace Kicki...

Quick Thoughts: AEW All Out 2020

September 5th bought us the next showing of AEW on PPV with All Out a stacked card featuring several title matches and matches with ramifications going forward. I didn't get the chance to watch All Out last year live as I was at Royal Quest for New Japan that day so was nice to watch this years edition live. First of all dammit wrestling shows need to start caring for an international audience this show finished at 5AM for me and that's just not good. We don't need 4 hours shows and if we are how about starting them an hour earlier just every company needs to be aware of their international audience please.  To begin with we had two matches on the traditional Buy In show that accompanied the show  Serpentico vs. Joey Janela   I guess we can that this as confirmation that Serpentico is on the roster now, part of the tag team 'Chaos Project' with Japanese Death Match Wrestling Legend Luther it's a decent team if we are keeping Luther on the show. Serpentico a dece...

Opinion Piece: The Problem With Final Fantasy 15's Main Cast

Image
Spoilers for Final Fantasy 7, Dragon Quest 11 and Final Fantasy 15 ahead The remake of Final Fantasy 7 has lit a fuse underneath me in terms of this game series. I have to be honest, looking at the back catalogue of games I have played over the last year Square Enix. From the aforementioned remake of Final Fantasy 7, Kingdom Hearts 3 and Dragon Quest 11 I can't think of another video game company that I have invested as much time into the worlds and characters they build (except maybe Football Manager but that's a different story), seeing these characters their growth with each other and evolution made me realise something and that being Final Fantasy 15's main cast of four really fall flat when it comes to being compelling or interesting characters. Now don't get me wrong I think the quartet of lads had some good moments and they had potential but something felt off to them. I hope over this article to look into the failings of the crew and where they fall short when i...

Final Fantasy 7 Remake - Breathing New Life Into a Classic

Image
When mentioning the game 'Final Fantasy 7' to any video game player 9/10 it would invoke some kind of emotion. Widely regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time many clamoured for a remake of this for a new generation in a new era. It wasn't out of the realm of possibilities after all we had seen several games get remakes such as the first three generations of Pokémon so when the remake for Final Fantasy 7 finally released we finally got a look at (some of) the iconic characters in high definition and how this remake has helped bring new life to this game and the sub series around it.  Ok just to preface this I haven't finished part 1 of the remake as I write this, I'm currently in Wall Market and loving the game so far. As well as this I have to be honest the original version  of this game is 11 days younger than myself so I don't know the hype around it when the original release came out or my thoughts playing it. I have vague recollections of see...

Opinion Piece - Kingdom Hearts doesn't need Disney Worlds

The following will discuss Kingdom Hearts 3 and it's DLC Re:Mind and Dark Road Spoilers Ahead for Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Part of the current situation we all find ourselves in has led me into listening and watching more Kingdom Hearts themed content. Ranging from theories on the future of the franchise to the content released for Kingdom Hearts. While the questions and theories posed are different one underlying thing remains, nobody is talking about Disney worlds. Maybe because the main points of the games going forward aren't around world travelling in that regard. Where is Sora? Who is Yozora and his world as a whole? Who is subject X? What happened to Xehanort's class mates? What will Xigbar and the Foretellers do and what is in that black box? Gone are the days of speculating what worlds we will see or what Disney properties will be used and how to fit them into the story and honestly I'm glad. I've held the belief for a while even before...

Opinion Piece: Why TV Demographics Matter

Part of each Wednesday brings a break down and full on argument between two sides of 'wrestling Twitter'. Those who likes AEW more than NXT and vise versa about total viewers. The 9th July saw AEW President & CEO Tony Khan take to Twitter and proclaim that even though AEW didn't win the total number of viewers they won the ratings in key demographics. This was dismissed quickly by people proclaiming that total viewers is the be all and end all but is it? I hope that by the end of you reading this I can raise a point about why demographics are not only as important by maybe more important. Please note I am not a professional and these are just the ramblings of someone who thinks they have some understanding of marketing and network TV and the changes it has seen in recent years. I am mainly looking at doing this as a clear and concise way of explaining demographics and the reason the 18-49 demographic is crucial to networks to obtain and why advertisers look for it for m...

Favourite Pokémon: Eeveelutions Ranked

When looking at Pokémon the series itself it doesn't have a more unique Pokémon than that of Eevee. While I normal Pokémon of not much note on its own, Eevee holds the unique evolution branch of having 8 unique evolutions all with different requirements. It adds to the overall world that such a Pokémon can change into many different forms I imagine everyone has a different ranking of their favourites and I will cover mine today. I will preface this by saying Eevee will be at the bottom. As it has been seen I prefer fully evolved Pokémon the majority of the time and this here is not any different. With that being said the list is as follows. Number 8: Leafeon Leafeon is always a Pokémon I was surprised did not come in during generation 1. While cut from Generation 2 to return for Generation 4 as a concept it always amazed me it didn't come in sooner. With Grass being a starter type I always thought it made sense to have the Fire, Water & Grass Eeveelu...
