Live Wrestling Half Year Round Up For 2026

2026 looks to be a record breaking year for seeing wrestling live. I got the bug last October to attend more than just the AEW PPV in August and whenever New Japan does Royal Quest and it has led to me going to a lot more shows mainly RevPro's Live in London series at the Porchester Hall. This is also a special year regarding to this as it is 20 years since I went to my first show it was an LDN show in 2006. I'm counting this as I and Cagematch cannot find records of the show I was at while I was at the Bognor Regis Butlins in 2004 (or 2005 can't remember). So this is an anniversary year for wrestling and has somehow had a call back.

So far this year I have been to the below shows.

RevPro Live In London 103 - 04/01/2026
RevPro Live In London 104 - 01/02/2026
RevPro Live In London 105 - 01/03/2026
Pro Wrestling EVE 146: Wrestle Queendom 9 - 08/03/2026
RevPro Live In London 107 - 03/05/2026
RevPro Live In London 108 - 07/06/2026

This already ties me with the amount of shows I went to last year with plenty more already booked and hopeful for more (looking at you New Japan give me Royal Quest 5 be it the Copper Box or Crystal Palace) I wanted a quick halfway through the year check. Not a ranking of what I've seen but just what I've seen and how I've felt on the 48 matches I've seen so far this year.

It's been a good fun half year of quality wrestling with a lot of top drawer performers and matches. A personal favourite moment was seeing Jetta at the end of the main event of Wrestle Queendom 9 when the EVE faces came out to help Session Moth Martina against Rhio and her gaggle of heels. I bring this up as Jetta was on that LDN show all those years ago, a real weird moment bringing 20 years of wrestling full circle.

10 title matches (and 1 tournament final) have been some of the major talking points so far for this year. In those 10 title matches we have had 3 title changes. Wrestle Queendom 9 saw Alex Windsor win the NJPW Strong Women's Championship and Session Moth Martina win the EVE Championship in the main event, then at Live In London 108 Michael Oku won the Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship in the final match of the first 6 months of live wrestling for me. Pretty big stuff with two companies major titles changing hands with EVE's biggest show of the year and RevPro wanting to have Oku vs. Mills at Wembley in the main event so wanted to give Oku a decent little run. Never say it's a bad thing seeing title changes or title matches but I just need the Undisputed British Women's Title defended at a Live in London show to complete the set of RevPro titles defended in Porchester Hall live.

But what about gimmick matches? I've had a NoDQ match and an Unsanctioned Match in Porchester Hall with the later leading the MOTY rankings for live matches so far this year. Mills vs. Oku at Live In London 107 I loved. They made great use of the arena it was so much fun for the restrictions imposed on them by the venue. EVE also gave a great NoDQ match with Rhio vs. Session Moth Martina the leader for best women's match seen live where Martina gave a career best performance. I've also seen two different women's gauntlet matches one at RevPro Live in London 105 and one at EVE Wrestle Queendom 9 (both in March). I would say the Sudden Death 16 at EVE was the better of the two, it had more of what you want from the gauntlet with surprises and big moments. The Revolution Gauntlet didn't really have that.

That will do it for the moment but some real good stuff so far. I'm looking forward to see how the second half of the year goes for live wrestling. Expectations are high given the fact that it has at minimum The RevPro Anniversary Show at Wembley Arena and then the day after AEW All In at Wembley Stadium. Let's see when December rolls around what matches make up the top 5 seen live.
